Change is good, during 2008 we grew into the Avid Tech DVD Transfer Centre.
A new office suite with suffiecnet space to work in comfort and increase our capacity to become one of Australia's largest retail film and VHS transfer facilities.
If you have been following developments with us over the years you may recall our humble thoufh high tech beginnings since inception.
Avid Tech's innovation and growth has not occured by chance. Annual upgrades and the implelntation of cutting edge technology have kept us at forefront of the film transfer telecine industry.

Avid Tech DVD completed the 2007 annual upgrade for all of its digital video editing workstations to state-of-the-art technology. Our new digital video editing workstations feature a number of outstanding innovations in computer technology especially suited to our video editing, audio engineering and custom DVD authoring/production services.
Each digital video editing suite workstation features the latest high end graphics, dual core and Quad core Duo 2 CPUs by Intel, and a fourth unit features AMD 2 CPU Opteron. Of course it doesn't end there each computer has a bank of four or more hard drives being the RAID "0" type array with primary hard drives featuring 10,000 rpm WD Raptor disk sets providing productivity increases for our super 8 & 8mm film transfer conversion.
SATA DVD-ROM provides greater reliability and steady data flow to ensure more precisee control over the burn process of your custom-made DVD.
External serial ATA (e-SATA) and network storage of several terabytes capacity (we have not counted it all up yet, but it is plenty :-) which provides us with heaps of data space. Intelligent file control and management systems ensure we can provide copies from our hard drive backups or our DVD data library for those requesting off-site storage backups of video audio and digital images.

Avid Tech DVD has also invested in the latest high end slide and film strip scanning equipment with the ability to scan 24 individual slides at the same time thus ensuring far speedier turnaround time, with even greater capacity for simultaneous scanning of colour and black-and-white (monochrome) negatives, we can also scan larger negatives and transparencies up to a whopping 4 by 5 inch, naturally photograph scanning from loose photos and photo albums is also a popular requested service from our many very happy and satisfied customers.

VHS to DVD
Featuring a true digital transfer by fire wire direct from a S-VHS to digital JVC professional tape deck, S-VHS offers superior quality image, higher resolution, and virtually no colour bleed compared to industrial strength VHS video players/recorders. Only Avid Tech DVD offers this extremely high-quality transfer service for S-VHS, VHS-C videotapes to either DVD or direct dubbing to MiniDV tape.

Country friendly service, city smart technology
Avid Tech DVD policy is to answer all phone calls within four rings wherever possible, if we are unavailable, you can leave a message. You generally get a call back very quickly. E-mail contacts and enquiries are answered within two hours in 90% of cases, and on the same day.
You can speak directly with the people involved with your project, enquiry, or if we don't have the service we will resource it for you, we will certainly make our very best efforts to provide the information you need to solve your problems even if this does not result in a sale to Avid Tech DVD. We are about helping people not ourselves. Avid Tech DVD is small enough to care and take an active interest in your project, no family memories project is ever referred to as a "job" since it is your family memories and they are precious to you, we appreciate your concerns about the safety of your family memories and the transportation of the media. We recommend express post or registered post when sending film stock or videotape media to Avid Tech DVD if it still concerns you we can arrange Courier pick up and delivery using VIC fast couriers.
Customers are also welcome to hand deliver to the studio by appointment.
Inspection tour:
Avid Tech DVD is the only media transfer company where you can actually come in and see for yourself how we scan your films, the equipment we use and the high-end digital workstation computers. So if you are still not sure please call us on 03 56 721872 and make an appointment to visit the studio and we will be happy to show you and explain the process to alleviate any concerns you have about the safety of our film scanning processes which cannot harm your films during the transfer process. We will even make you a cuppa tea or coffee, we are happy to spend a few minutes having a chat, try that with any of the other transfer mills or studios
